About Video Transcoder
The Video Transcoder solves video format incompatibility issues. When a recorded video won't play in certain players or uses unsupported encoding settings, drag it into this tool to re-encode it to a standard format using the browser's built-in MediaRecorder API. Supports output in WebM VP8, VP9, and MP4 (Safari) formats, with low, medium, and high quality options. All transcoding happens locally in your browser — no video is ever uploaded. Transcoding runs at real-time speed; a 1-minute video takes about 1 minute to process.
